Advisory Board

The Advisory Board is an executive level networking venue made up of representatives of national stakeholder organizations active in the field of sustainability. It provides an opportunity for federal, provincial and municipal levels of government, NGOs, green technology and business concerns of the development community, professional organisations and other decision makers to connect with each other virtually, by email and phone, from across Canada.

Members will also serve as strategic advisors to the SGCN.

Municipal Executives' Resource Group

To provide additional peer-to-peer support to municipalities, the SGCN has created an opportunity for connecting practitioners who have experience working on smart growth projects with other colleagues interested in smart growth solutions.

It is called the Municipal Executives' Resource Group (MERG) and is made up of current and former municipal senior staff, such as planners, engineers, urban designers, city administrators as well as elected politicians who have contributed to the implementation of smart growth solutions.

Those who put their names forward for MERG will act as “virtual peer mentors” through the use of e-mail and the telephone.

MERG is a sub-group of the Advisory Board and MERG “virtual peer mentors” are full members of the Advisory Board.
