Lois has been with Evergreen Common Grounds since 2002, working on a range of outreach and support initiatives aimed at building the capacity of local stewardship groups and municipal governments to work together on urban greening initiatives. She has been involved in researching, writing and producing various manuals and how-to resources, including Evergreen’s new book, Keeping it Green: A Citizen’s Guide to Urban Land Protection in Canada, and has led train-the-trainer workshops on volunteer management for stewardship groups. Most recently, Lois has had a key role in developing, coordinating and facilitating Common Grounds’ Shared Spaces Workshopsa series of professional workshops for municipal land-use managers, planners and other urban green space stakeholders across Southern Ontario. Lois has a B.A. in English and Environmental Studies and a Master’s degree in Geography from the
University
of Guelph.
